  • printed a 31-page topical index to Quarterly issues in Volume 40 Number 4 (2017).
  • chronicled some Notable Series (some outlined below)
  • surname index is online at the link above. Is your ancestor named among the quarter million already published?

The Society offers a copy service of quarterly pages for a small fee when an issue is out of print. Several societies or libraries across the U.S. receive each issue, for example, the Illinois State Genealogical Society, Allen County Public Library (Indiana), St. Louis County Library on Lindbergh Avenue, and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Notable series

  • 1850-1880 census mortality schedules
  • 1862 military census for the county
  • 1880 federal census extracts for St. Clair
  • deaths filed at the courthouse 1877-1910, ongoing

  • marriages 1906 – 1938, ongoing; continues where the statewide database ends
  • military discharges A – Z on file in the Recorder’s office
  • will and intestate probate indexes 1770s – 1964
