Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville began in 1861 with several families who formerly belonged to St. Paul in Belleville. These records name the parents and sponsors for a baptized child, dates of birth, baptism, confirmation, marriage, and death, residences of the bride and groom, cause of death and where buried. Some earlier records of these families might be found in other Belleville congregations, for example, St. Paul United Church of Christ (Belleville).
